Job Info Settings

The Job Info pane is used to create an electronic form that is filled in by the end-user when files are uploaded with the droplet. Information entered in the Job Info form is saved as an additional file, either in XML or plain text format, which is uploaded along with the the rest of the end-user's files. You define the name of the Job Info file, as well as the information that it captures, from within the Job Info pane.

Above: This droplet is set up to write its Job Info as an XML file. When the Job Info dialog is presented there will be four items to fill in. Required items must be filled in. Optional items do not need to be filled in. Hidden fields are included in the file but users are not asked to fill them in; for these the default value will be used.

Naming the Job Info File: There are two naming options for the Job Info file, "Follow Archive Naming" and "Static Name –>".

Choose Follow Archive Naming to ensure that Job Info files will never be overwritten. When choosing this option, the Job Info file will be appended with ".JobInfo.xml", or ".JobInfo.txt", provided that you chose an archiving option in the Destination Pane. Example: If the file upload is set to archive using the Timestamp option, your archive might be named "20070110164939.ZIP". If the XML file format is chosen, the accompanying Job Info file will be named "20070110164939.ZIP.JobInfo.xml".
Note: If you attempt to use this option with archiving turned off, you will not be able to save your droplet.

Choose Static Name –> when you are not concerned that the Job Info file will be overwritten. When choosing this option, enter the static Job Info file name in the accompanying text box.

Below: This is the Job Info form dialog the end-user will fill in as defined above.

Note: Do not attempt to create an empty Job Info form. This will cause the resuting droplet to misbehave.
